 A very warm welcome to the Year 5 website page.

We cannot wait to welcome you to Upper Key Stage 2, as you start your penultimate year at Lakefield. In year 5, we will be building on our resilience and independence skills to access an exciting curriculum, which will inspire us on our lifelong journey of learning. 

In the Autumn terms we will be following in the footsteps of great archaeologists, travelling back in time to explore Ancient Egypt.

During the Spring terms we will take a journey through space to learn about our universe, then move closer to home by studying different locations around the world and the impact humans have on them.

As the days grow longer during the summer term, we will be learning all about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings, discovering the impact they had on Britain and how this continues to shape us still today. 

We know Year 5 have really grown in maturity and are ready to take on even more learning challenges with a positive attitude and a ‘can do’ mindset. Although, we’re not yet the oldest children in the school, we understand the importance of leading by example through our excitement and enjoyment of learning.

The children are taught by Mrs Turner on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings. Mrs Lawrence then teaches the class on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.

The class are also supported by Mrs Ralph and Mrs Sprague.
