Raise money effortlessly by going online to favourite retailers like Tesco, Amazon, ebay and M&S via www.easyfundraising.org.uk! You don’t pay a penny more than you normally would, but the retailer donates a percentage of your spend to Lakefield PTA. Simple! |
Lakefield is already a great school. The extra money the PTA raises simply makes school life even better.
Being involved in the PTA is fun, rewarding and doesn’t mean a massive commitment.
From cake sales to the Christmas grotto and curry nights to bingo evenings, the PTA organises a whole host of different fundraising events across the year. Last year we raised a massive £8,000, and this school year we’re well on track to raise £6,000. Click here to see the events calendar.
Almost every parent at the school is involved in some way – whether because they sell the lollies after school one Icecream Friday or simply support the Christmas Fair by coming along. Around 10 – 15 parents, carers and teaching staff including the headteacher meet every few weeks or so to plan events, with different people getting involved as much or as little as they can.
Over the past few years we’ve been able to fund a whole new learning space for the children as well as whiteboards and computer equipment – all hugely beneficial to the children and school alike. PTA funds have also covered a Christmas panto, new library books and a free film night as well as subsidised school trips and swimming lessons – making them cheaper for us parents.
This year we’ve got contributions towards a sensory garden in our sights amongst many other things!
Whether you think you might have the odd half hour to spare, or simply want to find out more, we are always keen to welcome new people and ideas. Keep an eye on the website, come along to the next meeting or grab one of us in the playground for a quick chat. We also have a secure Facebook group for parents, keeping them up to speed with events and news. If you’d like to join, talk to one of the PTA members and we can arrange it.
